About Me

I am a Brooks Institute of Photography grad who focused on motion pictures.  After working in the entertainment industry (not porn, just the mainstream industry) for a few years I realized that wasn't really the place for me.  I don't think that I am weird enough.  Most movie people are a bit crazy.  I'm not saying I am not crazy or weird, but most of them are...well, let's just say a different type of crazy than I happen to be. So I am now a stay at home mom with the most adorable little girl named Layla who is about to celebrate her first birthday at the end of January.  I love being able to stay at home with her every day.  I really can't imaging having to leave her with someone else all day long. It would break my heart.  It is a busy job, and rather demanding, but so very rewarding and I am so lucky that I get to watch her learn and grow.

I am continuing my photography work only I am switching to still photography.  Though I love landscape photography more than anything, it is rather difficult to make money at it.  So I am venturing out into the portrait world and hope to start a business doing family portraits, babies, senior pictures, and the like.  I've done some weddings, and though they are fun, the idea of having your entire summers worth of weekends booked sometimes months in advance is a little off putting for me.  What if I am stuck puking over a toilet on that weekend?  What do I do then?  Anyway, perhaps that was a little too much about me, but whatever, anyone who knows me knows that I don't hold back much.

So why cooking?  Well, I have taken quite a liking to the cooking and baking worlds.  I may not be all that great at it, but the only way to get there is to keep on truckin', you know?!  So that puts me here, blogging about my cooking endevors.  I've always thought that when I tried a new recipe that was delicious that I just wanted everyone to taste it.  So, assuming everyone will actually make the recipes I post, this is how I can make that happen.  So sit back, or rather, get in the kitchen and start something delicious with me!
